  • The model name is usually printed on the rail or near the tail.
  • Board length in feet is usually printed on the nose or deck.
  • Production year is sometimes printed near the fin box on newer boards.
  • The fin-box shape tells you the system: a raised box with a screw is US Box, a soft molded fin is Fixed/iFin, and side-by-side clip slots are Quick-Lock.

Frequently asked questions

Do all Starboard SUPs use the same fin box?
Yes, every Starboard inflatable model we track — iGO, Touring, Generation, Sprint Air and the SUP Windsurfing iSUP — uses a US Box fin, the industry-standard screw-and-plate system.
Can I use any US Box fin on my Starboard board?
Any correctly sized US Box fin will physically fit. For touring and windsurfing conversions, a longer, stiffer fin gives better tracking; for all-round boards like the iGO, a shorter all-round fin is usually the better pick.
Does the Starboard SUP Windsurfing iSUP need a special fin?
It uses the same US Box system as the rest of the range, but because it's set up for windsurfing conversion, a stiffer touring-style fin will track straighter than a soft all-round fin.
