Your Quick-Lock Fin
Scanned the QR code on your fin's packaging? You're in the right place. This guide covers how to identify your Quick-Lock (also called Smartlock) setup, how to install and remove it correctly, and how to keep it in good shape for as many sessions as possible.
Quick-Lock — also called Smartlock — is a proprietary, tool-free push-click fin system used mainly on inflatable SUP boards, such as Bluefin models. Instead of screws or a sliding track, the fin's tab pushes straight into a matching receiver box and locks with an audible click.
How to identify it: no screws, no track — just a fin that pushes in and clicks, released via a small button or lever on the receiver box.
Installing & Removing a Quick-Lock Fin
Align the fin's tab with the receiver box and push down firmly until you feel and hear it click into place. Always give it a firm tug before paddling out to confirm it's fully locked.
To remove, press the release button or lever on the box while pulling the fin free — never force it out without releasing the latch, as this can damage the tab.
Care & Maintenance
- Rinse the click mechanism with fresh water after every session, especially after sandy beach launches — grit is the main cause of a fin that won't click or release properly.
- Let the receiver box air dry fully before rolling or folding an inflatable board for storage.
- Test the click-lock before you head out; a fin that doesn't seat with a firm click can work loose mid-session.
- Because this is a board-specific, proprietary system, only use fins made for your exact board — don't try to force-fit another brand's fin.
Compatibility
Quick-Lock/Smartlock fins are board-specific — always confirm your exact board model before ordering a replacement. The system is not interchangeable with US Box, Slide-In, FCS, or Futures fins, and position is fixed (no fore/aft adjustment).
