Alexander Neumann: From Brazil's 7400 km Coast to Munich's Eisbach

Alex has an interesting surfing path. His parents emigrated from Germany to Brazil, where he was born and raised. Even growing up far from the beautiful beaches, the magic of the sea managed to hook him — and from the age of five, he was catching waves along Brazil's "tiny" 7400 km coastline.

A New Chapter at the Eisbach

In 2005, Alex came back to Germany for a new path in life — and to rediscover his passion for surfing in a very special place called the Eisbach. What started as returning to his family's roots became a deep connection to Munich's legendary standing wave, where Brazilian ocean experience meets European river surfing culture.

14 Years Chasing Waves Around the Globe

Since arriving at the Eisbach, Alex has spent over 14 years travelling and surfing many different waves around the globe. His Brazilian roots gave him an appreciation for ocean power, while his time in Munich taught him the technical precision of river surfing. Today, he's equally at home on stationary waves, in wave parks, on wild river rapids, or out in the open ocean — because for Alex, every wave is a happy place.
